Can't figure out what the heck this place is? Read on...

Q: Who are you?
A: My name is Chris and I worked at Disneyland from 1987-1997. Although I had many different responsibilities throughout those years the constant was my involvement with the Custodial Bussing Team.

Q: OK great, we know who you are now. But why do we care?
A: Well, good question. Steve Broberg(who I hadn't seen in a long time) and I were sitting around a few days ago reminiscing about our days at the park when I brought up the idea of having a reunion.

Q: Wow, a reunion. Sounds like fun. What did you have in mind?
A: I was thinking about an informal opportunity for former and current Custodial Bussing CM's to get together and talk about the good old days. There are lots of people that Steve and I would like to see again (and some that we don't!). But I think we'll leave the invite roster to those who want to come. Translation: We have a particular interest in seeing those people that worked in the department from the mid eighties to the mid nineties. But everyone is welcome if you have a connection to this group of folks. My goal here is to have at least 100 people at the reunion.

Q: Sounds great! But I am/was a sweeper. Can I come?
A: Do you really want to come? I'm not trying to deter you but I must say that we really are looking for a core group here. (Sheesh, the sweepers always have to be copy cats.. :)(**Shutup Karl**))

Q: So How much is this going to cost? Where is it going to be? When is it?
A: Please see the Reunion page for the most current information.

Q: How do I sign up for the reunion?
A: Go to the Reunion page then the Register your Contact Info page and sign up using the form. Alternately, you can send email as directed on the same page.

Q: Why is the name of this site "TheSkyhook.com"?
A: (Courtesy of John Portilla)

skyhook, the {ski’ hook} noun. A high, looping overhand throw of a basketball made famous by Los Angeles Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; a fictional device sought out by unsuspecting new Custodial Bussing CM's for the amusement of others. (ex.) [hose stretcher, light bulb changer, can of A-I-R, et al.]

As a Disneyland Custodial Bussing time-honored tradition, veteran Bussers would send a new recruit on a quest for the fabled Skyhook. Unfortunately, for its victim, the non-existent device would always be unassembled, its parts – pipe fittings, vacuum tubes, buckets and whatever else was useless and available – would be scattered throughout Disneyland, forcing the unsuspecting busser on a cross-park journey, encumbered with a vast array of junk. After accomplishing this scavenger hunt, the busser is expected to assemble and operate the skyhook device for a task fabricated to coincide with the collected parts.
